Daryl Finally Breaks Down Over That Shocking 'The Walking Dead' Death

Bring on the tissues.

If Daryl cries, we riot.

We’ve had our hearts broken by Daryl’s cry face a few different times on “The Walking Dead,” so you’d think we’d be used to it by now. That’s a nope.

On Sunday’s episode, Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) finally faced his “responsibility” for the death of Glenn (Steven Yeun) in the season premiere. Remember, Negan only killed Glenn after Daryl jumped out of line, so that’s understandably been weighing on him.

While he’s being tortured at the Saviors’ facility, Negan’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) guy Dwight (Austin Amelio) straight-up tells Daryl: “You got your friend killed.” Then, he sticks a picture on the wall of what we can assume is left of Glenn. It takes a little while, but Daryl breaks down, and man, oh man.

It was tough:

On a positive note, Negan and Dwight try to break Daryl by leaving him locked in a dark room (naked at first), playing loud music continuously and feeding him dog food sandwiches. Daryl doesn’t break, though. Negan wants him to join his group, and Daryl refuses.

It’s going to be rough from now on for Daryl, but hang in there, dude. We got your back. And next time, we’ll bring extra tissues.

“The Walking Dead” airs Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
