Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson Has A Mission: Let's Make America Smart Again

The “StarTalk” host offers some much-needed 'cosmic perspective'.

Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson has a really good idea for the next four years: “Let’s make America smart again.”

The “StarTalk” host shared his plan on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” Wednesday night, a play on President-elect Donald Trump’s election campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again.”

“I think we have a four-year mission now,” Tyson told Colbert. “I think what we need to do, let us together, make America smart again.”

Colbert laughed, as he responded that he was a fan of the idea. “I’m a fan of rationality,” he added.

Tyson first made the “let’s make America smart again” declaration on Twitter Friday. The message has been liked more than 93,000 times.

The astrophysicist offered further perspective on the results of Tuesday’s presidential election in a Thursday tweet:
