Disney has finally answered prayers of thousands of Aussie fans by releasing its first serious look at the upcoming live action version of 'Beauty and The Beast'.
Disney has been drip-feeding stills of the upcoming movie and released a teaser trailer earlier this year, but this is the first time we get a good sense of what the latest adaptation is going to look like.
Judging from the trailer, the film that's being helmed by 'Dreamgirls' director Bill Condon, appears pretty faithful to Disney's 1991 animated touchstone. It's even said to include the iconic waltz between Belle and the Beast.
This iteration sees Emma Watson starring as Belle while Dan Stevens who takes the role of the Beast. Other key roles are Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, Luke Evans as Gaston, Ewan McGregor as Lumiere and Emma Thompson as Mrs Potts.
The trailer has already been watched more than 1.8 million times since landing on the internet overnight.
Beauty and the Beast is said to be one of many live-action Disney remakes in the works. These reportedly include Dumbo, Aladdin, Sword in the Stone and Mulan.
The film is slated for a U.S. release in March 2017.
