Carrie Fisher is certainly “telling all” in her new memoir, The Princess Diarist.
Fans of “Star Wars” were left reeling Tuesday after the actress finally confirmed her rumored affair with co-star Harrison Ford. Fisher said the two had an “intense” romantic relationship on the set of 1976’s original “Star Wars” film. The actress was just a teen at the time, while a 33-year-old Ford was married with two children.
Many wondered why Fisher was spilling the information now and she offered up a simple explanation to People magazine, “It’s been 40 years!”
“I didn’t say anything to anybody for years but it’s not like anyone’s deeply affected by it anymore,” the actress and author said. “Harrison’s very private, but I think I waited an appropriate amount of time. How much longer could I wait?”
The actor has yet to respond to The Huffington Post’s request for comment.
The Princess Diarist will be available in stores on Nov. 22.
