The foster brother of murdered Queensland schoolgirl Tiahleigh Palmer has been denied bail, three months after he was charged with incest and perjury.
The 12-year-old schoolgirl's body was found on the banks of the Pimpama River in November last year, more than a week after she went missing.
Almost a year later, her foster father Rick Thorburn, 56, was charged with her murder.
It's been alleged Trent Thorburn, 19, was sexually involved with the child, who had been living with the Thorburns at their Logan home.
In custody since September, Trent Thorburn on Wednesday applied for bail at Brisbane's Supreme Court amid allegations he lied at two secret Crime and Corruption Commission hearings to cover up his family's alleged involvement in Tiahleigh's death.
Justice John Bond denied the teenager bail, citing the gravity of the charges and the risk he would interfere with witnesses.
Trent Thorburn's mother and younger brother are also facing charges of perjury and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Earlier, Beenleigh Magistrates Court's heard lawyers for foster father Rick Thorburn are seeking a psychiatric evaluation for their client.
The matter is expected to return to court on February 22 next year.
