Former NRL player Chad Robinson has been found dead. He was 36.

Robinson, who played 159 games for the Parramatta Eels and Sydney Roosters, went missing from his Kellyville, Sydney, home on November 26, after leaving the house without his shoes, wallet or phone.

Family and friends made an emotional plea for his return. They included Paul Gallen, who in September captained the Cronulla Sharks to their first NRL premiership.

But on Thursday afternoon, a body was found by electricity workers in a car in Kenthurst in Sydney's northwest, about 13 km from Kellyville.

The body has not yet been formally identified but is believed to be that of Robinson. Police issued a brief statement saying there are no suspicious circumstances.
