This Diverse Target Catalogue Is Amazing, But Not Everyone Thinks So

More of this, please.

Target has been praised for casting diverse models in their latest back-to-school catalogue. The ad campaign features children with disability aides, models of diverse cultural backgrounds and a mother with a hijab.

So basically, there are real people selling stuff to real people. Check it out:

Target Australia provided the following statement to The Huffington Post Australia:

"At Target Australia we aim to represent the diversity of all Australians in our marketing materials, and our back to school catalogue is no different. We are pleased to feature all models who reflect the Australian population - who are our customers and team members - which has always been part of our inclusive culture."

Customers are showering the retailer with praise for the inclusive ads. A few haters have also claimed they won't shop at Target because of their religiously diverse catalogue -- but really, it's their loss. There are some heartwarming stories and reactions being shared on Target's social media.

Aussie brands have been kicking goals in the diversity corner, with Kmart, Cricket Australia and the Lamb industry all reflecting Australians' many cultures, abilities and identities in their ad campaigns last year.

Here's hoping we see more inclusive advertising like this.
