SpaceX has launched its first rocket into space since an explosion rocked its operations last year.

The Elon Musk-backed firm’s Falcon 9 rocket ascended into the sky from Vandenberg Air Force Base on the California coast.

In September, a mishap saw the firm’s launchpad engulfed by flames. A Falcon 9 rocket and its cargo were destroyed in the incident.

Stormy weather had delayed the latest launch by a week.
