More Than A Dozen Prisoners Escape Youth Jail

Several inmates have escaped from the Malmsbury Youth Detention Centre in central Victoria.

Police have confirmed they are currently at the Malmsbury centre following the escape of what is believed to be 13 inmates and the theft of a car at about 2.45pm today.

There are reports a police car was rammed in the escape, while some inmates are on the roof of the complex.
