The Great Aussie Story Of Ray The Fisherman Looking For A Buddy, Just Got Even Better

He's going on an all expenses paid fishing trip.

Remember Ray Johnstone who was looking for a fishing buddy on Gumtree? Well he's now being flown to Queensland for an all expenses paid fishin' extravaganza.

Our buddy Ray went viral earlier this week after he posted an advertisement looking for a mate to go fishing with after his unfortunately passed away.

Johnstone's post broke hearts across the country and landed him on television, talking about his search for friendship. Two brothers are now flying Ray to come fish with them.

Peter and Mati Batsinilas have offered to take Johnstone and his grandson on a two day trip to Stradbroke Island, according to The Advertiser. It's their favourite fishing spot.

"I would not want to be in that position because we love fishing so much. I'm happy to pay for flights for him from SA to Brisbane, pick him up from the airport," Batsinilas said.

"This is just something where I feel like I can help and I do it with passion. I want him to have the best experience of his life," Johnstone's new buddy said to The Advertiser.

Turns out Johnstone has had absolutely loads of offers including one from a charter boat offering to take him and his grandson out at Marion Bay in South Australia.

So yeah, I'm taking Ray fishing... #fishwithray #panawhosorry?
