Man Fighting For Life After Being Mauled By Shark In Queensland

A young man has suffered severe leg injuries after being attacked by a shark in Queensland.

Queensland Ambulance said on Saturday afternoon that the rescue helicopter was on the scene at Cardwell, in the state's north, following the attack.

The ABC reports that the man is in a critical condition with severe blood loss after being bitten a number of times on the leg.

He was reportedly attacked off Point Hinchinbrook boat ramp on Saturday morning and is being treated on a jetty.

Paramedics are said to believe the victim was set upon by either a bull shark or a tiger shark.
