âHidden Fencesâ debuted at the Golden Globes earlier this year when both Jenna Bush Hager and Michael Keaton mixed up two of the yearâs biggest films, âHidden Figuresâ and âFences,â and, unfortunately, combined them into one. On Sunday, âHidden Fencesâ returned at the Oscars.

As Huffington Postâs own Lilly Workneh wrote, it should not be that difficult to remember the names of these Oscar-nominated films. Aside from that, thereâs most likely a teleprompter nearby for the specific purpose of preventing these mishaps.
Ted Melfi, director of âHidden Figures,â weighed in on the âHidden Fencesâ mix-up when it first happened, telling HuffPost, âYou laugh about it. You say, âOh thatâs funny.â And then... itâs not that funny.â
âYou start to analyze it. Is it misspelled on the teleprompter? You think, well if thatâs the case, itâs even worse,â Melfi added, before noting that eventually âyou just chalk it up to the fact that people make mistakes. You just move on.â
Letâs just hope it doesnât happen again.
