Sydney blogger Heather Croxon has died after Friday's tragic car accident.

A woman who was hit by an out-of-control car in Chatswood on Friday has died in hospital five days after suffering critical head injuries.

Thirty-one-year-old blogger Heather Croxon's family was by her bedside in Sydney's Royal North Shore Hospital intensive care unit when she died on Wednesday as a result of the injuries, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.

Croxon's sister, Amanda Andrews posted a tribute Wednesday to her big sister.

"Unfortunately things don't always work out the way we planned," she said, according to the SMH.

"Today I said goodbye to my beautiful big sister who, as I held her hand, she took her last breath and passed on peacefully."

Croxon was walking along a footpath on Victoria Avenue before she was struck by a Toyota sedan that had lost control and left the road, also hitting a pram.

The vehicle then crashed into a pole, hit a motorbike and flipped onto its side before coming to rest on the footpath outside a Chinese restaurant.

Witnesses of the incident rushed to help Croxon, who was knocked unconscious by the collision before later being taken to hospital in a critical condition.

It is understood police are investigating the 67-year-old male driver of the car and whether a medical episode was the cause of the tragic accident.
