It's news to no one that Chris Hemsworth is a godly superhuman of a man. What may hit you for six is just how bloody much work it takes to look like that.

On Monday, the Aussie actor gave us a glimpse of how he gets in shape to play the superhero Thor in his upcoming film, Thor: Ragnarok, and ... well, the results speak for themselves.

Hemsworth posted a video of one of his high-intensity workouts on Instagram and it's a gruelling watch, to say the least.

We're talking massive bicep curls, relentless bungee cords and Hemsworth's very own lion impression -- featuring Thor-esque crawls and growls. Talk about staying in character.

Training alongside him is personal trainer Luke Zocchi who has been in Australia working with Hemsworth and Cate Blanchett in the lead up to the film.
