Minions -- kids love them. Adults love them. Actually, everyone loves them.

The second official trailer for Despicable Me 3 was released on Wednesday, giving eager audiences a glimpse into the return of the much-loved minions to theatres in 2017.

In the third installment of the popular franchise, evil mastermind Gru, voiced by Steve Carell, has his life turned upside down after it's revealed that he has an identical twin brother.

Enter Dru, with his enviable blonde locks and cheery outlook accompanied by an outrageous personal fortune.

The two brothers share more than just the same voice actor in common though, with Dru persuading his brother to pull off one last heist.

Despicable Me 3 hits cinemas 30 June.
