Grant Denyer has Tweeted for the first time since his recent rally car crash. The Gold Logie-winning Family Feud host was injured during Round 2 of the Australian Tarmac Rally Championship where Denyer and his co-driver, Dale Moscatt, were airlifted to a hospital in Melbourne.
Tweeting out thanks to his followers for their messages of support, Denyer confirmed he was in good spirits while recovering from his injuries.
Over on his Facebook page, Denyer expressed his gratitude for the many people who came to the aid of both drivers during the accident including the first response team, race competitors, and even the car itself.
"I really want to thank the extraordinary efforts of Race Solutions, the first response rescue team who did an incredible job getting us out of the car & taking such great care of us in a very difficult situation," he wrote. "I am thankful that the car and all its safety features performed perfectly to keep us safe, considering speed of the accident... We're both pretty lucky injury-wise and although we're very sore, we're making good progress and hope to be up and about reasonably quickly."
Denyer fractured a finger as well as the base of his spine and hips, and has broken a couple of bones, while Moscatt underwent successful knee surgery. The two hope to make a speedy recovery.
