Victoria may well be Australia's foodie state, after two of the state's eateries were among the World's Best 50 Restaurants.

Melbourne restaurant Attica claimed 32nd spot on the list and new entry Brae came in at number 44 in the awards, run by William Reed Business Media.

Attica also retains the title of the best restaurant in Australasia and is renowned for serving intricate tasting menus and matching wines.

Brae is located in the rural Victorian town Birregurra and was a debut entry for Australia this year. Head chef Dan Hunter describes the restaurant as "a place to interact with nature and eat from the land" on their website.
