What The Heck Is With These Weird Aussie Cricketer Emojis?

Apparently Steve Smith has dark hair now.

When Steve Smith looks in the mirror, this is NOT what he sees.

Um, yeah.

We don't really know what to say about these new cricketer emojis, except to point out the bleeding obvious which is that they look pretty much NOTHING like many of the players they're supposed to represent.

The Twitter emojis, to be used in conjunction with hashtags, have been created for this year's Indian Premier League (IPL) T20 tournament which is about to start, and which features several high-profile Australian players including captain Steve Smith.

Shane Watson, though long since cast off by Australian national selectors, is still highly valued in India, even if the artist who created his emoji seemingly has not the faintest idea what he actually looks like, or what his hair colour is.

Below is the full set of emojis for Australian and other players. Many of them are pretty good likenesses. We're not sure what the Aussies did wrong, although to be fair, the Davey Warner and Glen Maxwell ones aren't too bad.
