Lady Gaga And Prince William Just Skyped Each Other To Talk About Mental Health

'There's a lot of shame attached to mental illness.'

It's not every day Lady Gaga makes a coffee and has a Skype chat with the Duke of Cambridge but today seems to be the day.

The short video sees Gaga calling Prince William from her home as the two discuss mental health, and the stigma surrounding it as part of the Heads Together campaign.

The campaign, launched by the Duke and Dutchess of Cambridge along with Prince Harry, sees celebrities across the spectrum of industries speaking out about their experiences with mental health in an attempt to destigmatise speaking out.

In the video, Prince William commends Gaga on the open letter she penned in late-2016 where she described her battle with PTSD as a "daily effort".

"In my life I go, 'Oh my goodness, look at all these beautiful, wonderful things that I have, and I should be so happy'", she told Prince William.

"But you can't help it if in the morning when you wake up you are so tired, you are so sad, you are so full of anxiety and the shakes that you can barely think but it was like saying this is part of me, and that's okay."

"I feel like we are not hiding anymore, we're starting to talk, and that's what we need to do really," she continued."The best thing that could come out of my mental illness was to share it with other people."

The campaign has seen the likes of Stephen Fry, Ruby Wax and Rio Ferdinand speaking about their struggles as the campaign socialises the message to speak out via their hashtag #oktosay. William's brother, Prince Harry, was also recently praised for speaking about how his mother's death impacted his mental health.
