Yards have been ruined in Sydney by an alleged drunk driver.

An alleged drunk driver lost control of his car and careered through several of his neighbours' front yards in Sydney's west overnight, police say.

Police said the 32-year-old man told authorities he was reversing down his driveway in Granary Circuit, Werrington Downs, when he lost control of the vehicle about 7.10pm Friday.

The man was arrested and later returned an alleged breath analysis reading of 0.30 -- more than six times the legal limit.

The accused driver was charged with high-range PCA and will front Penrith Local Court in June.

His licence was suspended on the spot.
