US Vice President Mike Pence is spending his second day in Sydney in more relaxed fashion as he continues his tour of the Asia Pacific.
Pence arrived in Australia on Friday to kick off the final leg of his Asia Pacific tour and spent Saturday meeting with Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and other officials to discuss trade and security.
On Sunday, the vice president switched gears spending time with his wife Karen and their daughters Audrey and Charlotte at Taronga Zoo.
Amid a tight security presence at the iconic zoo, Pence and his family were reportedly given the chance to get up close with kangaroos, an emu and an echidna.
Earlier, Pence and his family went to church at North Sydney and held a private function with US Embassy staff and their families, the Nine Network reports.
After the zoo, Pence is scheduled to join NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian on a cruise on Sydney Harbour.
Pence and his family are due to jet out of Sydney for Hawaii on Monday.
