This New Tattooing Trend Is Not For The Faint Hearted

How could such delicate patterns inflict so much pain?

It seems like just yesterday the Helix cuff was the coolest thing in ear-fashion. Now, the Helix tattoo has superseded its cuffy-cousin to become the latest trend in the tattooing world.

The trend involves tattooing the Helix, or the upper curve of the outer ear. The delicate designs are dainty, elegant, quite pretty and offer the perfect, permanent replacement of earrings or other ear-decorations.

Just stop and think about that for a second. Getting a Helix tat requires the tattooing the cartilage rich, fat, poor part of your ear. That really has to hurt.

It's quite ironic that such a pretty tattoo really takes some serious guts to commit to.

People however don't seem to be too unnerved by the risk of pain, as more and more of the minimalist designs are popping up online daily.

It seems this is a classic case of 'no pain, no gain'.
