A Uni In The US Is Teaching A Course On Dothraki Because Who Wants A Job Anyway

Make every day 'take your dragon to work day'.
Soon.
HBO
Soon.

The University of California's Berkeley campus is now offering a course in the languages of "Game of Thrones" so you ride into the battlefields of the working world armed with phrases like "Anha zalak asshekhqoyi vezhvena yeraan!" (that's the Dothraki equivilent of "happy birthday" apparently).

Yep, the creator behind languages like Dothraki and High Valyrian, David J. Peterson, will be running a summer course at Berkeley about the linguistics of "Game of Thrones".

While you might initially roll your eyes at the idea of brushing up on your fictional languages, the course will also outline the "art of language invention", something he touched on in his 2015 guide, "The Art of Language Invention: From horse-lords to dark elves, the words behind world-building".

Peterson is the man behind the "Thrones" tongues and has worked on developing other languages for a massive amount of other series like "The 100", "Penny Dreadful", "Defiance" and "The Shannara Chronicles".

Good luck to the future fluent speakers, and as the Dothraki would say, "Yer affesi anni" or... "You make me itch" (there weren't any quotes about studying that were easy to find!!).
