Justin Trudeau Wore 'Star Wars' Socks To Meet Ireland's Prime Minister

The force is strong with Justin Trudeau.

The Canadian prime minister posted an Instagram story of himself wearing mismatched Star Wars socks during a meeting with Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny in Montreal on Thursday.

Trudeau presumably chose the R2-D2 and C-3PO socks because it’s May the Fourth, or “Star Wars Day.”

Naturally, Star Wars fans on Twitter totally geeked out.

In the midst of it all, Trudeau himself responded with a closeup:

His socks appear to be this $20 pair from sock company Stance...

The prime minister is known for his bold sock choices, which have included a skull pattern for a U.S. Chamber of Commerce meeting and maple leaf socks for Canada Day celebrations last year.

The prime minister’s office said Trudeau’stweets speak for themselves. Clearly, he’s a major fan.
