The Australian Olympic Committee has voted for John Coates to remain as president.
Long-time AOC boss Coates had been under siege from businesswoman and hockey gold medallist Danni Roche who challenged him for the organisation's top job at its annual general meeting on Saturday.
Coates reportedly won the contest with Roche 58 votes to 35 at the AGM in Sydney.
Coates and contender Roche embraced after it was announced that he would retain the presidency, the ABC reports.
Coates, a 66-year-old former lawyer, had been under fire following claims of a toxic culture inside the AOC's offices, including allegations of bullying by his long-serving media chief Mike Tancred.
In the lead up to Saturday's vote support for Coates strengthened, with the Athletes' Commission announcing this week it would back the current president.
Each of the AOC executive votes at the AGM for president, while each of the 33 summer Olympic sports' national federations and 7 winter sports have two votes.
The challenge from Roche was the first time Coates' tenure at the AOC had faced a threat in 27 years.
