'Prime Minister Trumble' Speaks At Parliament House On Budget Day

'I enjoy pronouncing all of the letters in all of the words.'

The similarities are uncanny.

Senator Sam Dastyari has never been shy of a publicity stunt. And what better timing than with the nation focused on Canberra for Budget day?

Dastyari on Tuesday let 'Prime Minister Trumble' crash his parliamentary doorstop ahead of the release of the Federal Budget.

Trumble is played by comedian Lawrence Mooney, who has gained applause for his ridiculously accurate impression of Malcolm Turnbull.

With all the talk of rich-guy manicured hands, his eyeglass game and whether we should cap the aged to 88 years, not much about the actual Budget is mentioned.

Which is okay, because Mooney has absolutely nothing to do with it. He'll leave it to the professionals, with the Treasurer due to deliver his Budget address at 7.30pm this evening.

In the meantime, can't get enough of Maaaahlcolm? See more Lawrence Mooney here:
