A Singaporean man who allegedly attacked a woman with a hammer in a Brisbane Airbnb rental property has been charged with attempted murder on Wednesday.
In a statement, Queensland Police allege the 31-year-old man attacked a 20-year-old woman, who is believed to be from Hong Kong but now lives locally, at a Norman Park residence around 9:30pm on Monday before stabbing her multiple times.
Authorities believe the man fled the scene on foot before responding to the scene and transporting the woman in a stable condition to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The man is expected to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday.
The charges come after news reporters found the man at the scene of the crime on Tuesday and detained him before police could arrive to arrest him.

Detective senior sergeant Rodney Watts told media on Tuesday the pair had only known each other for a couple of months and said the attack had been heard by people in the area surrounding the residence.
"I'm not sure what the motivation is at this point in time," he said.
"I can certainly assure the public that it's not a random attack."
