Nicole Kidman Joins Elisabeth Moss In 'Top Of The Lake' Season 2 Trailer

Mystery heads to Bondi.

Jane Campion's award-winning series "Top of the Lake" heads to Bondi for its second season, with Nicole Kidman and "Game of Thrones" and "Star Wars" star, Gwendoline Christie, joining Elisabeth Moss.

Kidman has been absolutely smashing it recently, after audiences completely devoured her in the HBO series "Big Little Lies" earlier this month, and her momentum doesn't seem to be dwindling as "Top of the Lake" ramps up.

The second series follows detective Robin Griffin (Moss), four years after the events of the first season, as she investigates a body that washes up on Bondi beach with her partner, played by Christie.

At the same time, Griffin attempts to reconnect with her daughter who was given up for adoption and raised by Kidman's character. These two worlds seem to collide as Griffin begins to suspect the man her daughter is seeing may be somehow involved in her investigation.

The second season will debut at the Cannes Film Festival, alongside David Lynch's return to "Twin Peaks". This marks the first time the festival has held special screenings of TV shows.

Campion, who co-wrote and co-directed the second season of "Top of the Lake", is also the only female director to ever win the top prize at Cannes, the Palme d'Or, for her 1993 film "The Piano".

While an Australian premiere date hasn't been announced, "Top of the Lake: China Girl" will air on BBC First.
