Black Student Receives 'Most Likely To Blend In With White People' Award

Welp ― “Most Likely To Become A Terrorist” wasn’t the only racially tone-deaf award a 7th-grade Texas teacher gave out to her students last week.

According to a report by Fox 26 in Houston, a second student named Sydney Caesar has come forward to say that college-prep course teacher Stacey Lockett also gave her a controversial mock certificate.

Hers read: “Most Likely to Blend In With White People.”

“I don’t like it,” Caesar told the station in an interview posted on May 27, with her sister Lauren Easton adding. “Where’s the common sense in that? I mean how can you think that that’s OK ― to say it in the first place?”

According to The Root, Caesar reportedly skipped the last day of school because she was so upset by the certificate. Her mother, Latonya Robinson, is calling for the teacher to be fired.

“For a child to be called either a terrorist, or she’s not black enough ― basically, now, the students are taking that, and that’s her label for the rest of the school year,” Robinson told Fox 26.

“We have enough bullying being done by he students, now it’s being done by a teacher.”

In a statement, representatives for the Channelview School District said: “The district does not condone the incident that occurred and we are taking this matter very seriously.”

It has yet to be reported whether the teacher, who is currently suspended, will be further reprimanded.
