New South Wales Senator Sam Dastyari has described the "sheer sense and wave of panic" in London following suspected terror attacks at London Bridge and Borough Market.
Dastyari said he was dining in a restaurant in London's Borough Market precinct, less than 50 metres away from a man wielding a knife who began stabbing victims.
UK police then declared the area in lockdown.
"We could hear screams, we could hear someone running down, and all of a sudden ... there was this sense of panic that takes hold," Dastyari told SKY News on Sunday.
"They tried to assess how safe it was and what was going on and what was happening," he said.
"I'm in a little bit of shock."
