Australia has no culture? Try again sweetie.

If you looked up the definition of "true blue Australian patriotism" in the dictionary you'd be confronted with the following video:

"Australia has no culture" ...#shoeyforshanno #cooked @nollsie @browncardigan @themadhueys

A post shared by @sophieetalbot on

"Australian Idol" runner-up, Aussie legend Shannon Noll sans shirt, assisting a young woman in the truly iconic act of a shoey -- rapidly consuming alcohol from a shoe -- while announcing "A shoey for Shannon".

The video was then shared onto popular content aggregation account Brown Cardigan, where it racked up over 100,000 views.

"How the f**k did Guy Sebastian beat this legend #realAustralianIdol" one of the comments read, while another wrote, "PLAYING ROOTY HILL RSL ON THE 14th of JULY! I'll BE THERE WITH SHOES OFF!!!"

Back in January, Noll was arrested and charged with two counts of assault after being forced out of the Crazy Horse strip club in Adelaide.

The charges were later dropped with Nollsy announcing on Facebook "Justice prevails", looking toward the future the "What About Me" singer signed off, "onwards and upwards from here!"

And it truly has been onward and upward. Especially for the shoes.

Nollsy isn't the only patron saint of the shoey, with Formula One's Daniel Ricciardo bringing the act of celebration to the world stage, even getting actor Gerard Butler to take part last year.
