Ellen Calls Out Audience Member Caught Stealing On Hidden Camera

Honesty is the best policy.

Ellen DeGeneres is the queen of hidden camera stunts, but this has to be one of the best.

With her show now in its 14th season, DeGeneres gave her audience members the chance to choose an item from the Ellen Shop as a memento of their time in the studio. An item, as in singular object, or 'one per person' as the sign in the shop read.

While the shop was seemingly open without security, Ellen of course, had the one-up on her guests; she filmed the shoppers as they tried on hats, selected mugs and traded off pencils against erasers. As Ellen said during the segment, "I just wanted to see how honest my audience was".

Most people passed the honesty test; one lady even offered to pay for a second item. And then, there was Nancy.

Nancy did not pass the test.

In a rather embarrassing few minutes, Ellen made an example of Nancy by reprimanding her during the show for taking more than one item from the shop. As punishment, Nancy was placed on a special chair to teach her thing or two about the importance of honesty.

Let's hope Nancy has learnt her lesson.
