Man Dies From Gunshot Wound At NSW Hospital

Police are investigating after a man died from a gunshot wound in the NSW north coast.

A man has died after turning up to a northern NSW hospital with a gunshot wound.

Police said officers attended Tweed Heads hospital on Saturday afternoon after receiving information a man suffering a gunshot wound had presented at the hospital.

The man received treatment but died a short time later, police said in a statement.

NewsCorp Australia reports the "heavily tattooed" man was "believed to be a member of the "Lone Wolf gang" and was left at the hospital with a wound to his abdomen by a woman believed to be his girlfriend.

An investigation has been commenced by police attached to the Tweed Byron Local Area Command, assisted by State Crime Command's Homicide Squad.

A press conference is expected to take place Sunday morning.
