Queensland Parents Welcome Record-Breaking Baby Daughter

Maisie Lily Macdonald is the biggest baby to have been born at Rockhampton Base Hospital -- weighing in at an impressive six kilograms.

Within 30 seconds of her birth, Maisie Lily Macdonald had already set tongues wagging throughout the hospital as news spread that a record-breaking baby had just been born.

Tipping the scales at 6.020 kilograms (or 13 pounds and four ounces), the not-so-tiny-tot is the biggest baby to have been born at Rockhampton Base Hospital in Central Queensland.

Maisie's dad Mason told HuffPost Australia that he "felt pretty famous" when nurses started rushing up to him to find out if the news was true.

"We had a rough idea [she'd be big], our first born was just over five kilograms," he said.

"Everyone in the theatre room were all just amazed... As soon as they pulled her out and I saw her, I knew she was going to be big [and] it spread around the hospital so quickly."

Now at just a few days old, Maisie's already breaking records -- being crowned the biggest baby to be born at the hospital.
