There's no greater Hollywood curse than video game adaptations. The entire genre is full of terrible, underwhelming or downright awful movies (remember 'Street Fighter'? 'Mortal Kombat'? That insane 'Super Mario Bros.' movie?).
Hoping to break the curse is the new adaptation of 'Tomb Raider', based on the relaunch of the classic Sony games following adventurer Lara Croft. The original games, first launching in 1996, were revamped for the newer generation of gaming consoles in 2013.
The games, 'Tomb Raider' and the follow-up 'Rise of the Tomb Raider', feature a younger Lara Croft, as she raided her way around tombs, fell into havoc and became incredibly handy with a bow and arrow. After the success of the newer games it was announced that a film version would be made, and that's where we are today!
But in the lead-up to the actual trailer's release, the studio launched a first-look teaser and poster and, well, the teaser looks great but the poster, there's one thing sort of... off about it.
Honestly it's not a huge deal except... what's, uh, what have they done to Alicia Vikander's neck?
That being said, not EVERYONE was opposed to the angle they decided to take the poster.
Luckily for the film, there are people out there trying to make things look a little less... neck-y.
Anyway, here's the teaser for the trailer which is a thing we do nowadays, and this looks great! Also Vikander's neck looks like a normal human one!
