England cricketer Ben Stokes may yet miss The Ashes, after CCTV footage emerged of him allegedly fighting outside a Bristol nightclub.
Stokes was arrested after an incident outside the nightclub earlier this week. It was thought at the time that he may miss selection for this summer's Ashes in Australia, but he was named as vice-captain in the 16 man squad.
However there are now strong doubts of his suitability to tour in England colours.
The Sun newspaper, which obtained the footage, alleged Stokes threw 15 punches in a minute, in the street incident which involved two other unknown men. One of the men reportedly required hospital treatment for injuries to his face, and Stokes spent the night in police cells.
Twenty-six-year-old Stokes was released without charge on Monday, but the all-rounder, who is regarded as one of England's Ashes strike weapons, remains under investigation.
The England And Wales Cricket Board has made no statement on Stokes since it announced he would miss the One Day International against the West Indies after the nightclub brawl first came to light.
The Ashes begin in Brisbane on November 23.
