A 30-year-old woman has been stabbed to death in Sydney's west.

The woman was discovered inside a home at Whalan about 2am, police said in a statement.

Paramedics treated the victim for a stab wound to her torso but she couldn't be saved.

A 26-year-old man was arrested in relation to the incident and charged with murder and contravene apprehended domestic violence order, police said in a statement.

Meanwhile, a man will face court on Saturday charged with murder over a suspected domestic violence-related death in Sydney's southwest.

The 39-year-old alleged perpetrator was arrested and later charged over the death of an 87-year-old man in Sydney's southwest on Friday.

The victim was attacked and killed on Memorial Avenue in Liverpool around 10.30am, police said.

Channel Nine reports that the elderly man died after suffering multiple stab wounds.
