Two Lost Bear Cubs Rescued By Russian Fisherman

Why did the bears cross the river?

Two bear cubs have been pictured clambering into a boat, seeking safety after losing sight of their mother while swimming in a Russian lake.

This heartwarming video shows two men sailing on Lake Vygozero in the Karelia region helping the stranded bear cubs from the water to safety.

One of the little cubs can be seen clinging to the side of the boat, unable to lift himself to safety without the extra assistance of a fishing net.

The other of the bear duo was popped into a net at the rear of the boat.

It's unclear where the mother of the bears was during the ordeal or afterwards once the cubs were delivered to solid ground.
