Man Charged With Murdering Brother Told Friend He'd Poured Bleach Down His Throat

The court heard Jay Cerin was stabbed and hog tied before turning purple.

A man charged with murdering his half-brother told a friend he poured bleach over his sibling's face and down his throat when he discovered he wasn't breathing, a NSW Supreme Court jury has heard.

Trent Errington, 31, and his then-girlfriend Rhiannon Lisa Bloodsworth, 24, are accused of killing Jay Cerin while staying at his Sydney home in August 2015. They've both pleaded not guilty.

Crown prosecutor Mark Hobart SC during his opening address on Monday said Errington told the friend he'd stabbed Mr Cerin in the arm, smashed a dog bowl over his head and hog-tied him, before returning later to find he'd turned purple.
