Watch: How To Make Low-Carb Pizza Bowls

The secret ingredient is spaghetti squash.

Eating low carb doesn't have to mean saying goodbye to your favourite foods. You just have to know a few handy food tricks.

If you've never heard of spaghetti squash, it's a vegetable with fibrous strands which, when cooked, resemble cooked spaghetti. It's basically nature's low-carb version of pasta.

Once you have your delicious low-carb spaghetti, you can serve it just like you would regular pasta -- with bolognese, carbonara sauce, pesto -- or you can stuff the squash with your favourite ingredients and bake it.

Take these spaghetti squash pizza bowls with pizza sauce, cheese and pepperoni. This dish is easy to make, satisfying and packed with delicious pizza flavours.

To make these pizza bowls, start by roasting spaghetti squash halves until golden. Take a fork and fluff the squash to create the spaghetti strands. Then it's time to add the pizza topping ingredients: pizza sauce, parmesan, ground Italian sausage, red onion, capsicum, pepperoni and mozzarella. Place the pizza boats back in the oven until the cheese has melted, then dig in.
