June Oh Seo Charged With Murder Of Girlfriend After Chatswood Rooftop Standoff

The man at the centre of a 12-hour stand-off atop a Sydney high-rise unit after his girlfriend's body was found in a laneway below has been charged with murder.

The body of Hee Kyung Choi, 34, was found by a passer-by in a lane near the heart of the busy Chatswood shopping and business district on a Monday morning earlier this month.

Korean-born tradesman June Oh Seo, 37, was charged with murder in the Hornsby Local Court on Friday morning.

He was originally charged with one count of domestic violence-related assault occasioning actual bodily harm after his girlfriend's body was discovered. That charge still stands, the court heard on Friday.

Police carried out interviews with up to 90 people before charging Seo with murder as well.

The 37-year-old was scheduled to appear in Hornsby court on Friday morning via video link but is now set to appear in Sydney Central Court in December via video link.
