No one asked for his 2 cents, let alone 50.
In an expletive-laced video uploaded to 50 Cent’s Instagram and Twitter accounts on Monday, the rapper harasses 19-year-old Andrew Farrell, a janitor at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, claiming he is on drugs. In fact, Farrell was not on drugs, but has mild autism and social anxiety, his family told Fox 19.
"This new generation is crazy," 50 (real name Curtis Jackson) can be heard saying on the video before panning to Farrell, who ignores him.
"Look at him, what kind of shit you think he took before he got to work today?" Jackson asks. "He high as a motherfucker, pupils dilated, everything."
Farrell, who has worked at the airport for a month in his first job ever, shakes his head and continues walking as the rapper -- best known for a song about birthdays that came out more than a decade ago -- continues to harass him.
The performer, once a drug dealer who was shot nine times, says again, "This new generation is fucking crazy."
”It hurts to watch that, it’s painful,” Farrell’s stepfather, Ken, told WKRC, of 50 Cent’s video.
Farrell’s mother, Amanda, said she thinks Jackson acted that way because he expected her son to know who he was.
“Personally, I think the guy was mad,” Amanda Farrell told WKRC. “Andrew didn’t know who he was right away and he ignored him and he did his job and went about his business. I think he was mad and offended that someone didn’t flock to him.”
Jackson had come to Ohio to promote his new vodka line.
Farrell, who said he works hard and doesn’t do drugs, described the rapper as a “jerk.”
Jackson apologized late Tuesday in a statement to Page Six:
“While the incident at the airport resulted from an unfortunate misunderstanding, I am truly sorry for offending the young man,” Jackson told the publication. “It was certainly not my intent to insult him or the disability community, which is a source of great strength in America. I have apologized personally to him and his family.”
Jackson has deleted the original video from his social media accounts. Maybe he should just delete his social media accounts entirely.
