Coinciding with a cover story from The National Enquirer alleging actor Charlie Sheen has been diagnosed as HIV-positive, TMZ reports that the actor will open up about his diagnosis in an interview with Matt Lauer on the "Today" show Tuesday.
People magazine is also reporting that Sheen will discuss his diagnosis with Lauer, while Business Insider reported on Monday that Sheen is set to make a "revealing personal announcement" during the interview.
The National Enquirer story comes two weeks after Radar Online published a blind item claiming a Hollywood "bad-boy" was diagnosed with HIV two years ago.
Sheen has mostly remained out of the headlines since FX canceled "Anger Management" in 2014, but at one point, the 50-year-old was the highest paid actor on television, reportedly taking home $1.9 million per episode for his role on "Two and a Half Men." This was before his much-publicized meltdown in 2011, in which he was fired from the CBS series and would go on to claim he possessed "tiger blood and Adonis DNA" and was "winning" in interviews.
Request for comment made to the "Today" show has yet to be returned at this time, while Sheen's longtime publicist informed The Huffington Post he is no longer working with the actor.
