Demi Lovato's time spent in the "La La Land" machine has not been without its struggles. But the "Confident" singer has made her painful experiences into something beautiful, channeling her hardships into music. Now, Lovato is stopping to reflect on a major accomplishment: her sobriety.

On Tuesday, the former Disney star revealed that it's her four-year sober anniversary. "This last year I experienced so much life and too much death... But I made it through... Sober. #4Years #GodsWill ," she tweeted.

Days before, Lovato, referencing her sobriety, wrote that "anything is possible," before quoting the Tall Heights song "Spirit Cold."

"Most people die but others just go.. She's still out there and the chasm grows.. Steady are the feet in the morning glow," she wrote.

The pop star, who checked into rehab in 2010, has been open with her deeply personal struggles, ranging from her drug addiction to depression and bipolar disorder.

"I wish more people would lose the stigma and treat addiction as the deadly and serious DISEASE that it is," she wrote in 2014 after the death of actor Philip Seymour Hoffman. "Drugs are not something to glamorize in pop music or film to portray as harmless recreational fun. It's not cute, 'cool' or [admirable]. It's very rare when people can actually predict their addiction and even then, you never know when too much is going to take their life or take a bad batch of whatever it is their [sic] using."

Although Lovato has done an immense amount of self work over the past couple years, she credits longtime boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama for being instrumental in her recovery.

"He'll never take credit for a lot of my sobriety and my recovery, but I guarantee it, I wouldn't be alive without him today," she told HuffPost Live last year.

The two celebrated their anniversary in January, sharing an adorable photo of them cuddling, as well as a collage of their six-year relationship.
