Emilia Clarke Named Esquire's 'Sexiest Woman Alive'

The "Game Of Thrones" actress is having a good year.

GQ named her the "Woman of the Year," and now Emilia Clarke has earned another title to flaunt: Esquire’s “Sexiest Woman Alive.”

The magazine made the announcement on Tuesday at midnight Eastern time after teasing readers with a titillating clip featuring shots of the "Game of Thrones" actress.

In an accompanying article about the 28-year-old Briton, who plays Daenerys Targaryen, a.k.a. Khaleesi, on the HBO series "Game of Thrones," Esquire describes the "gorgeous balance of Emilia Clarke."

"She manages to bring together a number of opposites, to make them natural: sweetness and toughness, emotionalism with a kind of cold-blooded determination. Something in these contrasts explains her sex appeal, too. She can play queen and kid sister, dominatrix and pal," writes the magazine.

Esquire’s editorial projects director, Lisa Hintelmann, told The Associated Press that Clarke, who starred in this summer’s "Terminator: Genisys," was an obvious choice for the "Sexiest Woman" title.

"[She] is unforgettable in 'Game of Thrones' and was hands down the number one choice of Esquire’s staff, friends and family," Hintelmann said.
