The day has finally come: Kesha and Zedd's "True Colors" is here.

The song, which Zedd released on his own back in 2015, got an emotional update thanks to Kesha's haunting vocals. The new version was posted on Daily New Jams Thursday morning, a day before it was meant to be released.

Kesha also shared a video clip of the song on Facebook, writing, "this is more than a song. it's a declaration of my truth."

As she sings lyrics like, "All my life, one page at a time / I'll show you my, my true colors / No, no, no, no, I won't apologize for the fire in my eyes / Let me show you my, my true colors / It ain't your rainbow," it's hard not to think of Kesha's legal battle with her former producer, Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald, and Sony, her record label.

Due to contract obligations, the singer wasn't able to release any new music with other producers, though in February a New York judge ruled that she could work with new producers under Sony

Zedd isn't a Sony artist, but he shared a tweet assuring his followers that he and Kesha got permission to release the song.

The duo, who performed the track at this year's Coachella festival, teased its release on social media this week. First, the EDM artist posted a photo of himself and Kesha in the studio, which the "Blow" singer followed up with a pic of her in the recording booth. Then, we got to see what looks like the single's ornate cover art.

The single marks the first time we've heard Kesha's voice on a track since she was featured in Pitbull's 2013 hit "Timber."
