Matt McGorry, best known as kindhearted prison guard John Bennett on "Orange Is The New Black," took a stand for feminism on his Facebook page yesterday.

"I'm embarrassed to admit that I only recently discovered the ACTUAL definition of 'feminism,'" he wrote above a screenshot of a dictionary entry, adding, "Being a feminist is for both women AND men. I AM A FEMINIST."

McGorry also tagged actress Emma Watson's #HeForShe campaign and Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg's #LeanInTogether movement, both of which push men to support gender equality.

McGorry, 28, recently opened up to Cosmopolitan about how Sandberg's book, "Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead," changed his perspective on gender equality.

"It's insane to me that reading this book was the first time I understood the definition of feminism," he said.
