Woman Pays It Forward At McDonald's, Sparks Inspiring Chain Reaction

At least 250 cars copied the heartwarming gesture.

A kindhearted woman sparked a beautiful chain reaction of goodwill by picking up the next person's tab at a McDonald’s drive-thru.

Some 250 cars copied Torie Keene's initial gesture of paying it forward at the fast food joint in Lakeland, Florida, on Wednesday morning, ABC News reported.

One woman even paid for the next three meals in line, according to KSTP. "It kept going and going," said cashier Marisabel Figueroa.

"After the 15th car, I started tally marking the number of people that were participating on a piece of paper," Figueroa added.

Mystery initially surrounded who had started the pass-it-on chain, ABC News reported. But Keene reached out to Figueroa after the story was covered by local news station Bay News 9, and revealed she'd only intended to "brighten someone's day," per KSTP.

Figueroa said the impromptu campaign of kindness was a unique experience in her 12 years of working at McDonald's.

"I feel very blessed to have been a part of all that," she told ABC News.
