Australia's a funny place. A land of sweeping plains, of ragged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains; of animals both beautiful and brutal, deadly and delightful; and of birds that know how to swear like a drunken sailor on shore leave.
This video popped up overnight. The video's description reads: "Bird calls a dog a c*** on a vegemite blanket."
Honestly, we haven't got much more to say on this. As the old saying goes, "it does exactly what it says on the tin." It's a bird calling a dog a c*** on a Vegemite blanket.
The only thing that can possibly make this any better is the commentary of the woman behind the camera.
"ERIC! Stop fighting with the dog," she scolds the bird.
"No! Stop spitting at the dog."
When the bird drops his clanger -- "F***ing c***!" Eric screeches -- she utters what will almost definitely become a treasured entry into the Australian lexicon.
"He's not! Leave him alone! He's not stupid," the woman insists.
If you care, that seems to be a corella. It is unclear how it learnt the words f*** or c***, or how to use the two together as a compound insult. It doesn't matter. Just live this reality.
"Straya -- where even the animals swear enough to make your mum's ears turn red."
