Every once in a while, along comes a story that breaks the internet. Kim Kardashian's magazine covers, Kanye's presidential announcement, Tony Abbott eating an onion.
Now, Eric the bird is set to join that lofty canon of instant online icons.
We first brought you Eric on Wednesday, as the foul-mouthed bird attacking and insulting a dog while perched on a Vegemite blanket.
On Thursday, a veritable treasure trove of Eric videos just waiting to be found and honoured was discovered.
First came one from 2014, where Eric is taken to task for beating up the family dog and cat. Eric, unperturbed, doesn't dignify his owner's interrogations with an answer, instead deeming himself a "f***ing legend."
"You're not a f***ing legend at all! You're a naughty naughty naughty boy," his owner scolds (in the video at the top of the page).
Eric found a huge Australian following on Twitter, with many delving back into the archives to find a stack of videos his owner had posted on Facebook.
It was at this point we realised Eric was the hero we needed in our time of great national need.
"STOP SWEARING! YOU'RE ON FILM! IDIOT! IT'S NOT FUNNY!"
Realising Eric's newfound online fame, his owner set up a Facebook fan page, which has racked up a lazy 10,000 followers in no time at all.
"Hi my name is Eric and I swear a little but I will give you a bit of a giggle," reads the description of the Eric The Legend page.
We're not arguing with that.
